enquiries and bookings
Completing the website form or sending an enquiry does not automatically create a confirmed booking.
A booking is confirmed once Karl has:
-
Discussed the service with you
-
Confirmed that Attention to Detailing can accept the work
-
Agreed the date, location and expected service
-
Provided or agreed the price or pricing basis
Please check that the vehicle, service, location and contact details supplied are correct.
quotations and prices
Prices shown on the website are starting prices unless clearly stated otherwise.
The final price may depend on:
-
The size and type of vehicle
-
The vehicle’s condition
-
The amount of dirt, staining, contamination or pet hair
-
The condition and hardness of the paintwork
-
The level of correction or preparation required
-
The parts and labour required for mechanical work
-
Any additional work requested by the customer
Quotations are based on the information and photographs available at the time. If the vehicle’s condition or the work required is materially different when inspected, Karl will explain this before carrying out work that would increase the agreed price.
No chargeable additional work will be carried out without the customer’s agreement.
service times
Any completion time or service duration provided is an estimate.
Some vehicles require more time than expected due to their condition, weather, drying time, product-curing requirements, parts availability or previously hidden problems.
Karl will let you know as soon as reasonably possible if the work is likely to take significantly longer than expected.
valeting and deep cleaning
Customers should disclose any known stains, spillages, mould, bodily fluids, sharp objects, hazardous substances or delicate materials before work begins.
Although every reasonable effort will be made, complete removal of every stain, smell, mark, pet hair or contaminant cannot be guaranteed.
Results depend on factors including the material, age of the contamination, previous cleaning attempts and the condition of the vehicle.
paint correction and machine polishing
Paint-correction results depend on the type, thickness, age and condition of the paintwork and its available clear coat.
Some scratches, stone chips, oxidation, previous repairs or other defects may be too deep or unsafe to remove completely. Karl will aim for the best safe result rather than risk unnecessary damage to the paintwork.
Any expected correction level is an informed estimate, not a guarantee that every defect will be removed.
ceramic coatings and aftercare
Paintwork ceramic coatings are applied to properly prepared surfaces and may be offered as an upgrade to an eligible polishing service.
Durability depends on the coating selected, vehicle use, storage, environmental exposure and aftercare. Customers must follow the aftercare guidance provided.
Ceramic coatings are not scratch-proof, stone-chip-proof or maintenance-free. Regular safe washing will still be required.
mechanical work
Routine servicing, brake replacement and other selected mechanical work are accepted subject to assessment, availability and the nature of the job.
Karl may need to inspect the vehicle before confirming whether the work can be accepted or accurately quoted.
If additional faults or worn components are discovered, they will be discussed with the customer before additional work is carried out.
Where reasonably necessary, the vehicle may be moved or test-driven for inspection or to verify the completed work. This will be discussed with the customer where appropriate.
customer responsibilities
Before the service, customers should:
-
Remove cash, valuables and important personal belongings
-
Remove child seats where cleaning underneath them is required
-
Tell Karl about any delicate, loose, damaged, modified or recently repaired parts
-
Disclose known electrical problems, water leaks or warning lights
-
Make sure Attention to Detailing has permission to work on the vehicle
-
Provide working keys and any necessary locking-wheel-nut key
-
Ensure the vehicle contains enough fuel or charge where movement or testing may be required
Attention to Detailing is not responsible for belongings left inside the vehicle unless loss or damage is caused by a failure to use reasonable care and skill.
mobile appointments
For mobile services, the customer must provide:
-
An accurate service address
-
Safe and lawful access to the vehicle
-
Enough suitable space for Karl to work around it
-
Any parking permission required at the location
-
Access to the vehicle at the agreed time
Attention to Detailing normally brings the water, power and professional products required for mobile valeting.
If the location is unsafe, inaccessible, unsuitable or subject to parking restrictions that prevent the work from being carried out, the appointment may need to be moved or rearranged.
weather and events out of our control
Mobile work may need to be postponed where weather conditions make the service unsafe, prevent products from being used correctly or would compromise the expected result.
Appointments may also need to be changed because of illness, equipment failure, parts delays or other circumstances outside reasonable control.
If Attention to Detailing needs to change an appointment, Karl will contact the customer as soon as reasonably possible and arrange another suitable time. The customer will not be charged for work that has not been carried out.
cancellation and changes
If you need to cancel or change a booking, please provide as much notice as possible by telephone or email.
If you are unavailable, the vehicle cannot be accessed or the appointment cannot proceed when Karl arrives, a new appointment will need to be arranged.
Attention to Detailing reserves the right to decline future bookings following repeated missed appointments.
Nothing in these terms removes any statutory cancellation rights that apply to bookings made online, by telephone or away from the business premises.
fourteen-day cancellation rights
Where the law provides a 14-day cancellation period for a service booked at a distance or away from the business premises, that period normally begins when the contract is agreed.
If you specifically ask for work to begin during that 14-day period, you may be required to pay a reasonable amount for work already completed if you subsequently cancel.
If the service is fully completed during the cancellation period following your express request and acknowledgement, the statutory cancellation right may end once the service has been completed.
These rights are subject to the applicable consumer-protection rules and do not affect your other statutory rights.
payment
Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due when the work has been completed and before or when the vehicle is collected or returned.
Payment must be made using the method agreed with Karl.
A receipt or paid service record can be provided. Customers should raise any questions about the price before making payment.
collection of vehicles
Customers should collect their vehicle at the agreed time or as soon as reasonably possible after being told it is ready.
If collection is delayed, please contact Karl promptly so that alternative arrangements can be discussed.
existing damage and vehicle condition
Where appropriate, Attention to Detailing may record the vehicle’s condition before beginning work.
Customers should identify any known:
-
Loose trim or fittings
-
Cracked or damaged glass
-
Paint defects or previous repairs
-
Electrical faults
-
Water leaks
-
Damaged wheels
-
Aftermarket parts or modifications
-
Other fragile or defective components
Attention to Detailing will use reasonable care and skill but is not responsible for deterioration or failure arising solely from pre-existing damage, defective components or conditions that could not reasonably have been identified beforehand.
This does not exclude responsibility where loss or damage is caused by a failure to use reasonable care and skill.
photographs
Before-and-after photographs may be taken to record the vehicle’s condition and completed work.
Identifiable photographs will only be published on the website or social media with the customer’s permission. Further information is available in our Privacy Notice.
problems or complaints
If you are unhappy with any part of the service, please contact Karl as soon as possible and provide a clear explanation of the issue.
Attention to Detailing will assess reasonable concerns and, where appropriate, discuss a suitable way to put things right.
